ALEXANDRITE LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Hair removal by Alexandrite laser works by targeting the pigment inside the hair follicle with very little damage to the delicate pores and structures of the skin. If the skin is dark we use ND-YAG or cold tip Diode laser with amazing results.

The area to be treated has to be trimmed before. A small probe is placed to the skin as the laser is activated. The use of topical Eflornithine cream combined with the laser hair removal promises complete results (Xia Y, Cho S, Howard RS, Maggio KL. Topical eflornithine hydrocloride improves the effectiveness of standard laser hair removal for teating pseudofolliculitis barbae: a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial.  Am Acad Dermatol. 2012 Oct;67(4):694-9).

Each "pulse" of laser light disables a large number of hair follicles. It treats the "active" follicles and while some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, most patients report little or no discomfort because we use cold air around the area of the hair removal.
