BLEPHAROPLASTY

The skin laxity at the upper and the "bags" at the lower eyelids can be reconstructed by blepharoplasty.

The upper blepharoplasty incision is put at the eyelid crease and excess skin with fat are removed. If there is ptosis will be fixed at the same time by shortening of the levator muscle. The scar will be totally inconspicuous because it follows the natural contour of the upper eyelid.

The lower blepharoplasty incision is also put right under the lashes: excess skin, muscle and fat are removed redistributed to improve the "tear troughs". Canthopexy (eyelid tightening) and eyelid lift are usually combined to improve "festoons" and middle face laxity, while laser resurfacing and/or croton oil-phenol oil are used to tighten the skin under or around the eyes.

Adding fat/stem cells can improve the contour of the eyelid/cheek junction, while botulin toxin A smoothen the crow's feet and bleaching treatment whitens the "dark cycles" at the lower eyelids.

After the procedure, you may have "dry eyes syndrome" or swelling which disappear the coming weeks.
